Day of the Kriek

On Saturday 6th June 2009 the first Day of the Kriek will be organised in 'In de Verzekering tegen de Grote Dorst' in Eizeringen.

From 12 PM one can taste a large selection of kriek.

During the day one can also enjoy several cultural activities:

  • art photographer Pascal Baetens exhibits pictures, which he took during a photo shoot in 2001 in the pub.
  • the gueuze and kriek fans of the Doctor Jazz Band will add a musical note in the afternoon.
  • at 8 PM Marc Pairon, the best selling poet in the Low Countries, will recite poems from his bestseller "De liefste liefdesverzen aller tijden!".
  • From 10 PM: café chantant (sing along) with Fonny De Wulf and Peter van de Vivere.


The Dag van de Kriek is organised by The House of Gueuze in cooperation with 'In de Verzekering tegen de Grote Dorst'.
